Should Church Buildings ever open again?

Church is deployed

What if we considered not to return to ‘normal’ but to consider a radical alternative?

This post is drawn from an excellent article by @_Andyglover, entitled ‘Should Church buildings ever open again?’. It links in superbly with much of what has been written about Liquid Church.

What if we had opportunity to pray like never before? To move away from formulaic prayer to one that can also be less constrained, to have no bounds. Where prayer is actively considered wherever you are.

What if we had the Opportunity to be the Church? There have been so many stories of churches radically changing their ways, of not asking people to enter into their building but for the church to be present out of the building. And finding such potential to move, to love, to be – and where God also is. To be with the people who don’t attend church.

What if we had the Opportunity to Innovate? If we could take this opportunity to really be ‘the Church without walls‘?

I was told in Theologically College to ‘push the walls, they are made out of rubber’.

It hasn’t always been “plain sailing” following that, but are we too reticent to even test the walls?
