The Knit & Knatter group met again this morning: to share what they have been doing and chatting about all and sundry.
Some had been on their holidays, including the NC500, the North Coast 500 route.
It gets its name from the length of the loop, which stands at just over 500 miles, or 516 miles (830km) to be exact. Some say that it has become so popular, especially this year, that the single track roads are inundated.
Others have been busy with some embroidery. Here one has been using a Jo Avery book which suggested an opportunity to create a piece of a quilt each week.
But we also were able to discuss the noise of geese, the inundation of the Football on nearly every channel over the weekend, and the price of wood in recent days.
In the UK currently, we’re cutting down more trees than we’re planting. We’re replanting 50% less trees than we did 10 years ago, which is reducing the amount of timber on the market. This could be a question which leads us to COP26 in November. How might such questions which arise in our daily life change our perspective on climate change?
Our plans for the next few weeks also include a Quilt Exhibition at the Lillie Gallery in Milngavie.
The next edition of Purl in the Field will be released shortly to those who are not on email or utilise Zoom etc. Here’s the previous edition:
